nota bene: there simply is no bad film with Harvey Keitel in it.
Surprisingly well‑aged, witty portrayal of the rivalry between two private ambulance services in LA.
The topic of “women in EMS” is picked up in a bittersweet way, as befits the genre.
Larry Hagman appears – of course – in the role of the villain.
Should you even still watch a film with Bill Cosby today? cf. Cancel Culture: Kann man Werk und Künstler voneinander trennen? - National Geographic. Well, at any rate no museum has taken down a painting by Caravaggio yet, right? The role anticipates the kind of appearance that later made Samuel L. Jackson very successful.
On IMDb, the film is especially praised by professionals from the field.
A follow‑up as a TV series, “Mother, Juggs & Speed” (spelled with two g’s and with a different cast), was planned, but never got beyond the 1978 pilot episode, which is no longer available.
